You will have the opportunity to work in a paid placement at a dental practice in your area (minimum 30hrs per week required) and also study towards a qualification in the dental industry. We aim to match all our candidates with a suitable practice placement so they are able to complete the course. We provide placement for the learners so you don't have to worry about looking for yourself. Guidance on preparation of CV's will also be given. Learners will also have the opportunity to complete functional skills at level 1 & 2, along side their dental nurse training if you do not meet the entry requirements.

Apprentices will achieve a qualification that has been approved by the General Dental Council (GDC) as meeting the requirements for entry to the professional register. Before taking their end-point assessment, apprentices must achieve level 2 English and maths (equivalent to GCSEs at grades A* to C).
Their role is to work alongside a specialist orthodontist or dentist to perform routine orthodontic treatments. It’s now fairly common for NHS orthodontic treatment in particular to be carried out by orthodontic therapists under the supervision of a dentist or specialist.
Dental Hygienist duties revolve around conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth (e.g. removing plaque) and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. You’ll also help dentists decide treatments for teeth or gum diseases and handle dental emergencies.
A dental technician’s job description involves taking information from the patient’s dentist, which includes impressions or molds, from the patient’s mouth. The dentist would provide detailed information as to what precisely he wants the dental technician to do.
