This intensive academic and practitioner course will improve your job prospects following graduation. You’ll gain practical experience in the counselling and coaching field during your work placement and learn about safeguarding policy, psycho-pharmaceutical matters, risk assessment and risk management, all of which are now critical in health care. Teaching will be focused on wellbeing via biological, psychological and social perspectives where counselling and coaching skills will be applied continuously. A balance between working with mental health and long-term conditions will be a critical component to this course and we’ll ensure that you're kept up-to-date with contemporary health care practices.

Entry Requirements

From Level 3 BTEC(112 New UCAS Points) or Minimal 12 Classes Certificate or Baccalaureate Diploma and English Certificate equivalent IELTS 5.5 or Functional Skills English Level 2 or minimal 8 at English Baccalaureate Test(if you have English as one of the subjects) or English Linguistic Competencies with B2 on: Writing, Speaking, Reading, Listening. If you don't have any English certificate, you can apply and we can advise you how you can achieve it or you can have an internal English Test at the University. If you are not sure apply and we will design for you a path to achieve it.

Personal Statement (mandatory)

A personal statement is an essay that the student must write to apply to study at the university. Its purpose is to summarise your skills and experience and help you gain a place at your desired course. It must include the name of the university and the name of the course. You have to mention why are you applying to this particular university and what do you hope to achieve after the course, career wise. A well written personal statement will help you stand out in the crowd and secure you a place at your dream university. You can follow a specific guide to answer to some expected questions, however, you must not mention them in the essay. Have a clear, cursive structure and write a minimum of 500 words.

Qualification (mandatory)

For the students who want to apply for Foundation Year, they can apply with 12 Classes Certificate, for EU students. For UK qualification from Level 3 BTEC(112 New UCAS Points). If you are not sure apply and we will design for you a path to achieve it because for mature students we have 'New Beginnings' Programmes or other funded alternative courses.

Your career

You’ll develop transferable skills such as report writing, teamwork, time management, organisation, IT and numeracy skills, which are valued by employers in a wide range of industries. Since this is a practitioner course, you may be employed by your current placement or choose an alternative work environment. This may be in a private, university, school, college or NHS practice. On completion of this degree you can also continue on to postgraduate study.

Life coaches support and encourage people to help them make informed decisions in their working and personal lives.
