If you love sport and want to help others get the most out of their abilities and talents, then this course is ideal for you. It’s perfect if you want a degree in this area but you don’t meet the standard entry requirements. First we prepare you for your degree during the Foundation year, bringing you up to speed with academic skills and a firm grounding in the subject. Then you can go on to do the full undergraduate degree.

Entry Requirements

IELTS 5.5 with no component less than 5.0 in each band, or equivalent. This can be exempted by successfully passing the QA Higher Education test (minimum 55%). We would normally expect you to have Grade 4 / C in GCSE Mathematics, English and either Physics or Double Science. Please contact our team to discuss your existing qualifications and we will be able to recommend the most suitable entry point for you.

Baccalaureate Diploma or two subjects at GCE A-Level or equivalent, plus passes at grade C or above in three subjects at GCSE level or equivalent; OR Have completed a recognised Access Programme or equivalent: Level 3 qualification summarising 45 UCAS points.

Personal Statement (mandatory)

A personal statement is an essay that the student must write to apply to study at the university. Its purpose is to summarise your skills and experience and help you gain a place at your desired course. It must include the name of the university and the name of the course. You have to mention why are you applying to this particular university and what do you hope to achieve after the course, career wise. A well written personal statement will help you stand out in the crowd and secure you a place at your dream university. You can follow a specific guide to answer to some expected questions, however, you must not mention them in the essay. Have a clear, cursive structure and write a minimum of 500 words.

Your career

By the time you finish our course, you’ll already have worked in every potential career avenue a sports therapist could take. You’ll have taken advantage of your unrivalled opportunities for practical experience. You’ll have soaked up insight from guest speakers who are all professional practitioners at major sports clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United. You’ll also then be eligible to gain your membership of the Society of Sport Therapists, which will be your passport to your new career, and become a member of other professional bodies such as the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS).

Sports scientists use knowledge of how the body works to help people improve their health or sporting ability.

Sports coaches teach sports skills to individuals and teams of all abilities.
